Rainny is the crown jewel of the Bangkok skate community. Over the years, he has hand-built 15 skateparks across the country and around the world, always opening his home to travelers and serving as a true steward to the community. Now, Rainny and a group of local skaters are coming together to rebuild one of his earliest projects: a beloved ramp in Nakkila Skate Park, near the community school.

Some of the features here Rainny built many years ago. The surfaces were never that smooth and the coping is now dented and worn. It has become a gathering place for young skaters nonetheless. It has aged gracefully.

One ramp in particular, originally crafted by a builder who has since passed away, is in need of special attention. Rainny’s vision is to revitalize this feature by adding corner ramps and transforming it into a half-bowl with a mini ramp up, honoring the original builder’s memory and giving new life to the park.

When I visited Rainny during one of his work sessions, I saw firsthand how the community rallies around these projects. Within minutes, kids arrived, eager to skate, even barefoot, excited to try out the new ramps. The energy and enthusiasm were contagious, and it was clear how much this space means to everyone involved.

This is a small, community-built skate project in Bangkok. Rainny will manage the funds and build the features by hand, with help from local skaters. The results will be enjoyed by the blossoming skate community and will forever honor the original builder. Contributions will help renovate existing features and add new ones, creating a free, lasting space for young skaters in Nakkila Village.
