Hello everyone, my name is Donesha Robinson. As you all know, Hurricane Melissa has left damaging effects on the western parts of Jamaica. My hometown, New Works, Westmoreland, is completely devastated and has left most of the community homeless and without food or supplies. Places where I walked and played as a child are unrecognizable. The people of Westmoreland are suffering and are in dire need.

As a people, we pride ourselves in building our home from scratch, some folks often working their whole lives just to own a piece of their community. Many people depend on farms and livestock as a source of income.

Many folks are left without a roof over their head, beds to sleep on, or know where their next meal is coming from.

I’m looking to partner with local churches/organizations in my hometown community to be a helping hand to those in need during this difficult time.

I have yet to reach in contact with my brother and a few other family members due to the power outages, but my family and I are holding the faith.

I am asking for donations of any kind, either monetary or non-perishables. Anything counts! A few examples are listed below that would really help. One thing about us Jamaicans though, despite any situation, we continue to remain resilient and unified in times like these.
