My name is Prabin, and today I am writing with a heavy heart. During the recent Gen Z movement in Nepal, my family home was destroyed by fire. This was not just a building—it was the lifelong dream of my mother, a primary school teacher who has worked tirelessly for 20 years. Every brick was built from her monthly salary and savings.
My father has always been a social worker. He devoted his life to helping marginalized communities and eventually, with the support of everyone, was elected mayor of our municipality. Despite his position, he lived humbly, riding his bike to fetch milk every day, and never misused public money.
Now, everything is gone. Our home, built with decades of sacrifice, has turned into ashes. All family photos, memories, and even my mother’s marriage jewellery were taken. We are left with nothing.
Still, my mother, with her endless resilience, only said:
“Those who do wrong will eventually face their own results.”
I understand the frustration of young people in Nepal, but destruction is not the way forward.
This fundraiser is to help my mother rebuild her home and recover from this unimaginable loss. Any support, no matter how small, will bring us hope in this dark time.
From the bottom of my heart—thank you.
