Hey everyone, my name is Clara, and on August 10th, 2025, my grandparents, Lúcio and Lourdinha, lost everything when their home was destroyed by fire.

They built that house in 1976, on a piece of land near Aracati de Minas, in the district of Cataguases, Brazil. What began as a simple home with a few animals grew into a warm and welcoming place. Over the years, they raised three children and welcomed six grandchildren under that roof — the same roof where my siblings, cousins, and I spent our childhoods. It’s where our grandma told us bedtime stories and where we helped our grandpa with “treasure hunting.”

Their home became the heart of our family — a place of laughter, gatherings, and countless treasured memories.

In one tragic night, decades of history were reduced to ashes. They lost everything, from clothes and furniture to family heirlooms and photographs. As they are elderly and they don’t have any insurance, starting over now feels overwhelming and heartbreaking.

We are asking for your help to rebuild their home and give them back the comfort and safety they deserve. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference and help create a fresh start for them.
