Hi, my name is Renata Garcia, and yesterday I woke up to a horrible call telling me that the home I had spent my summers in, the one that had hosted every neighbor’s birthday party and so many celebrations, had burned down, along with all the memories inside it.
Due to an electrical surge in the town of Puerto Morelos, Mexico, the little house my grandparents built from the ground up suffered a devastating fire. The air conditioners exploded, the windows shattered, and every single thing they had worked their entire lives for was destroyed in a matter of minutes.
My grandparents are farmers, born with nothing and working since they were old enough to walk. They had finally found stability and comfort in their ranch home, and yesterday morning, they were left with nothing but the clothes they had on. Thankfully, they had left early that morning to run errands and, to my absolute relief, were not physically harmed.
The grief of being pushed back after a lifetime of hard work, along with the loss of our beautiful Frida and her puppies in the fire, has been too much to handle.
We are asking, if you can, to please help us. Even $1 would make a difference for them as we try to rebuild their home.
Reaching our goal of $25,000 would truly be heaven sent. It would aid us with purchasing materials and begin reconstructing what they lost.
I, along with all my loved ones, truly thank you for taking the time to read and share this story ❤️
