Hi, my name is Omar Johnson, known fondly by close family and friends of my father as Billy. I’m reaching out to ask for help for my father, Jerry Johnson, who was severely impacted by the deadly category 5 Hurricane Melissa, which tore through Jamaica this past week. On behalf of my father, and our family, we are looking to raise $50,000 to help acquire materials, cover labor, and help rebuild what was lost.

While it spared some, and for others a far worse fate, the storm caused extensive damage to his beloved home in Discovery Bay, known as Mangoville. If you have had the fortune of staying there before, you are aware of its once beauty, peace, and tranquility.

Various structures around the property were completely knocked down, and half of the roof on the main building was completely torn off. The devastation is overwhelming, and repairing it will take weeks if not months of hard work and thousands of dollars that we are seeking assistance in raising and rebuilding Mangoville to its once prior glory.

My father is not one to ask for help. In fact, he’s spent much of his life helping others. As a longtime entrepreneur, most of you might know him from his various ventures, whether it be Jenille's Restaurant or the Impulse Salon. He's employed hundreds of people over the years, giving many their first opportunity to earn a living and support their families. Anyone who knows Jerry knows his heart, generosity, hardworking aptitude, and willingness to always lend a hand.
