Help Rebuild Lives in Western NC with Dana McKee

Hey, I'm Dana McKee. I grew up in Statesville, NC, and Western North Carolina has always felt like a second home to my family. When Hurricane Helene struck, I knew I had to do more. Just days after the storm, I joined United Carolinas Cavalry in their relief efforts, and I felt a strong calling to continue supporting their mission. I initially considered starting my own nonprofit, but I soon realized it would be even more impactful to partner with organizations already doing meaningful work on the ground.

The "Homes for Helene" Sticker Campaign began with a simple idea: to raise funds for areas affected by Hurricane Helene through donations given for the stickers. After serving alongside an incredible team in Western NC, I had an unusual dream that my husband and I were working out of our RV to help residents in the mountains. After much prayer, we felt a clear calling to donate our RV to United Carolinas Cavalry (UCC). In sheer obedience—though, to be completely honest, not joyfully at first—we donated our RV, which now serves as a mobile unit for the UCC crew in the mountains, providing essential support where it’s needed most. This act marked the beginning of a meaningful partnership with UCC and renewed our commitment to help rebuild and support the Western NC community.

Through this campaign, we are raising funds to support UCC’s efforts, as well as The Gathering Church in Asheville, NC, which is reaching families in some of the hardest-hit surrounding areas. All donations raised will go directly toward housing needs—whether providing RVs for volunteer shelters or assisting displaced residents with housing solutions. 100% OF YOUR PROFITS ARE GOING TOWARDS THIS FUNDRAISER.
