Hello, my name is Kristie, and I am reaching out to you all with a heartfelt request for support. I am creating this GoFundMe page for my sister, Kelsey, her husband Andy, and their two beautiful children, who have recently faced an unimaginable setback.

After dreaming of a new life in sunny Florida, Andy and Kelsey finally made the leap and relocated south. They poured their hearts into finding a home, decorating it, and turning it into a warm and inviting space for their family. It was a labor of love, and after a whirlwind of activity, they finally felt settled and at peace in their new surroundings.

Unfortunately, just as they were beginning to relax, Hurricane Helene struck. While we are grateful that they evacuated safely and emerged unharmed, the storm brought devastating damage to their newly established home. Upon returning, they were met with the heart-wrenching sight of their brand-new belongings—everything from couches to beds to rugs & clothes—ruined by floodwaters.

In the aftermath, the community rallied around them, with friends, neighbors, and even strangers stepping up to help clear out the damaged items. However, the loss was profound. Insurance may cover repairs to the structure, but it does not extend to the contents of their home. They lost precious items, including clothes, toys, a brand new sauna, and irreplaceable memories like photo albums from their first vacation together and even their wedding guestbook.

As if that weren’t enough, their pool sustained significant damage, requiring a complete drain and a new filtration system, and their air conditioning system was also compromised during the storm.

Kelsey and Andy are the kind of people who would never ask for help, and I know they will do everything they can to rebuild on their own. However, I cannot stand by and watch them struggle to replace what was lost—furniture, clothing, toys, and essentials for their family.

The emotional toll this situation is taking on them is significant; the stress and heartache of losing their cherished belongings and the sanctuary they had just created for their family is overwhelming.
