Rebuilding Hope After Hurricane Melissa — From Cici, With Love
Hi everyone, my name is Cici. Both of my parents were born in Jamaica, and the island has always been like a second home to me. I travel there often — sometimes once, sometimes a few times a year — and every visit reminds me just how strong, warm, and resilient the people truly are.
But right now, Jamaica needs our help more than ever.
Hurricane Melissa has left behind devastating damage — homes destroyed, roads washed out, and many families left struggling to find food, clean water, and shelter. It’s heartbreaking to see how hard things already were for so many, and now the storm has made it even tougher for people to get back on their feet.
This GoFundMe was created to raise relief and recovery funds for families in Jamaica affected by Hurricane Melissa. I’ve witnessed firsthand how determined Jamaicans are to push forward despite the odds, and I want to do whatever I can to help bring some comfort and hope back to them.
How the funds will be used:
Providing food, water, and basic essentials to families in need
Helping repair or rebuild damaged homes and small businesses
Supporting community centers and local efforts providing direct aid
Offering financial help to those who have lost their income due to the storm
Every dollar, no matter how small, makes a real difference. A few dollars can feed a family, help replace damaged supplies, or restore someone’s sense of hope after losing everything.
Jamaica has always given the world so much — the music, the energy, the culture, and the love. Now it’s our turn to give back.
Thank you so much for your kindness, your prayers, and your support. Together, we can help Jamaica rebuild and rise again.
— Cici
