Help Rebuild East Burke's Community Bridge
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jim Sullivan and I have the privilege of being the Town Administrator here in beautiful Burke, Vermont. As most of you know, Mother Nature was tough on us again this year. 2024 was even worse than 2023, with bridges and roads taking another huge hit. One of these bridges we lost holds tremendous value to East Burke Village and the community. The bridge serves as safe passage from the VAST snowmobile trails to the East Burke Village where riders can buy gas and food without crossing busy traffic on Rt. 114. The bridge allows the thousands of mountain bikers that come to ride Kingdom Trails safe access to the trails, village stores, and bike shop.
The bridge also serves our community as a safe way for the kids to walk to school. The bridge is a big part of the Annual Trunk or Treat, where it is part of the haunted trail. Again, keeping the kids off the roads and in a safe area. The economic impact that East Burke Village will take without this bridge could be devastating to many of the businesses.
This is where I am asking on bended knee to please help us raise the $25,000.00 we will need to reset this bridge. This is not covered by FEMA, the State, or insurance. Our goal is to have the bridge reset before the Halloween event.
Would you please consider helping us bring back this very important bridge so we can continue to keep snowmobilers, bikers, and our youth safe in our village while allowing our shops and restaurants to continue to thrive.?
Thank you for considering our community during this very difficult year.
