On Sunday, March 8, 2026, a devastating fire broke out in a vape shop on Union Street, right next to Glasgow Central Station. What started as a small flame quickly exploded – witnesses heard blasts from exploding batteries – and engulfed the entire four-storey historic building, causing parts of it to collapse. Over 30 small businesses were wiped out, including tattoo studios, nail techs, hair salons, and my good friend’s barbershop, Dintojra.
Dintojra was his dream – a cozy spot where he built a loyal community of clients with top cuts and vibes. He lost everything: clippers, chairs, mirrors, products, even personal tools he’d saved up for years. No insurance covers it all, and with the building gone, he’s got no place to work and bills piling up. This wasn’t just a shop; it was his livelihood and passion, supporting his family in Glasgow.
We’re raising funds to help him rise from the ashes:
• £2,000 for new clippers, sterilizers, and grooming gear
• £3,000 for salon furniture (chairs, mirrors, sinks)
• £5,000 for rent deposit on a new spot nearby
• Any extra for lost wages while he rebuilds
Every pound brings Dintorja back stronger. Glaswegians know how tight-knit our city is – let’s support one of our own! Share if you can’t donate. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. ❤️
