Since 2017 and the release of the Onewheel Plus, Sidewinder trail in South Lake Tahoe has been an integral part of the birth and evolution of onewheel trail riding. Sidewinder and it's sister trail, Corral, have been a favorite among the Onewheel trail riding community and many have said it was their all time favorite trail. Check out some of our favorite onewheel videos of Sidewinder/Corral here
Unfortunately most of the trail network that includes Sidewinder, Corral, and Incense Cedar all burned late this summer in the devastating Caldor Fire . This fundraiser is intended to help rebuild and restore these trails and the infrastructure damages like the burned bridges and signage. 100% of funds raised will go directly to the rebuilding efforts on the Corral/Sidewinder trail network.
The Corral/Sidewinder trail network was a first of it's kind project and partnership between volunteer mountain bike organizations and the USDA Forest Service. Check out the video below or click here for more details on this
As shown in the video, TAMBA - Tahoe Area Mountain Bike Association , is largely responsible for this amazing trail that the onewheel community has loved and enjoyed. Anyone who has enjoyed these trails over the years should have a healthy amount of respect and appreciation for what TAMBA has done to make this all happen.

We are all very saddened by the destruction of the Caldor fire and frankly much of the landscape will never look the same. However this is a great opportunity for onewheel trail riders to get involved and contribute to some of the amazing mountain bike trails that we all enjoy and love. As the onewheel trail riding community grows, it may make sense to start onewheel specific volunteer organizations in the future. But for now locally and for the Caldor Fire repair efforts on Corral/Sidewinder, it makes sense to support TAMBA's ongoing efforts both via this fundraiser as well TAMBA authorized volunteer work days. Volunteer work days will be determined and announced in spring of 2022.
Another important thing about these trails is they that are all 100% authorized for Onewheel and other personal electric and motorized vehicles. There is no uncertainty or confusion, onewheels are 100% allowed on this trail and there is no known reason that this will ever change. This is a great opportunity for anyone who loves riding trails to get involved and help develop cooperative relationships between the onewheel community and amazing mountain bike volunteer organizations and public land managers like TAMBA and the USDA Forest Service.
So please, help us rebuild Sidewinder and the Corral Trail network, and be a part of the future of onewheel trail riding.
Any amount will help, please donate what you can and tell your fellow trail riders. And if you can make a volunteer work day next spring we can definitely use your help!
