WILDFIRE RELIEF - appeal for help for Carl & Maite

Our friend Carl has lost his home in the recent wildfire in Penamacor, Central Portugal. Left with nothing but the clothes on his back.

He has not asked us for this help but he has truly been left with nothing & is a person very dear to our community.

He has built this place with his hands & his heart for the last 10 years, working so hard to care for the land & has lost everything, including all of the possessions he & his partner had inside the house.

Luckily they managed to escape the fire with the 2 horses but the house has been consumed & left structurally unsound because of pressure created inside the building.

We have started this page to help raise funds for them to restart their life & get back on their feet after this tragic event.

We are grateful for anything you can give at this difficult moment. Together with the funds raised here & physical support from the community in our area we will help them to start again.

O nosso amigo Carl perdeu a sua casa no recente incêndio florestal em Penamacor, no centro de Portugal. Ficou sem nada, apenas com a roupa que tinha vestida.

Ele não nos pediu ajuda, mas ficou realmente sem nada e é uma pessoa muito querida pela nossa comunidade.

Ele construiu este lugar com as suas próprias mãos e o seu coração nos últimos 10 anos, trabalhando arduamente para cuidar da terra e perdeu tudo, incluindo todos os bens que ele e a sua companheira tinham dentro da casa.
