Help Raysa Stay In Canada

Hi, my name is Raysa and I immigrated to Canada 9 years ago from Brazil.

After much thought and consideration, second guessing whether I should reach out to community for help for the longest time, I finally realized that if I don't reach out for help, all my 9 years of hard work to permanently immigrate to Canada will soon end.

On February 13th, after an immigration consult, I was told that because of the recent changes in immigration laws, I have to incur unplanned expenses to have a chance on getting my Permanent Residency.

My immigration process will now cost me upwards of $4,000. My social work job is not enough to pay for it. I've worked for youth mental health for three years, and even though it does not pay enough (plus the increasingly high costs of living in Vancouver), I don't want to abandon what I do.

My work permit expires in November 2024, and with Canada's new immigration laws and points system it has become virtually impossible for me to be able to get permanent residency without having to pay these unprecedented extra fees.
