Help Raymond Streib!

We have started this page to help our dear friend  Ray Streib.  This is not something he would ever ask for himself so we are doing this on his behalf (posted with his permission). 

Ray is a beloved patient and has been a friendly face around The Therapy Place for years.  Ray was a talented and popular musician, comedian, and entertainer on the Las Vegas strip in the 1980s.  Unfortunately he suffered several strokes which left him severely disabled and unable to communicate.  He sought speech therapy at our clinic many years ago and has worked tirelessly to regain his speech and independence.  His steadfast determination and the improvements he has made over the years is truly inspiring and he continues to work towards improving every day. 

We were upset and saddened to hear that Ray lost his mobility scooter in a dishonest sale on Facebook marketplace.  Ray uses his scooter to drive himself to medical visits, therapy appointments, and grocery shopping.   Ray purchased a new scooter because he hoped it was going to be an upgrade (better wheels making for a more comfortable ride and more powerful motor for a bit faster speed ). He paid cash for this new scooter and traded his own working scooter to the seller.  Unfortunately , the scooter he traded to the seller went dead after 8 miles and now he has no means of transportation. He has tried many times to contact the seller but he is no longer replying to any messages.   An initial quote to repair the broken scooter is over $500 and there is no guarantee that it can even be fixed. 
Ray is not eligible  for a new scooter though his medical insurance until 2023. 
Please consider a donation of any amount. We are hoping to get him a brand new scooter, with a warranty and the accessories that he needs for it so that he can resume his ability to have independent transportation.
