Hi, I’m Daniel Donskoy, and I want to introduce you to someone truly special—my friend Ratee (Rataran).

Ratee grew up in a small, beautiful village called Unakuruwa, Sri Lanka. This place isn’t just his home—it’s his heart, his history, and his everything. For years, Ratee worked as a fisherman and a tour guide, meeting travelers from around the world. But life was always about getting by, not moving forward. One day, he asked himself:

"What if I could create something lasting? What if I could welcome people, share my home, and build something for my future? - and how can I help my family ??''

That’s when his dream was born. Backed by His Entire Community

With nothing but his hands, his heart, and the help of his community, Ratee started building a guesthouse—a place where people from all over the world could stay, experience real Sri Lankan hospitality, and connect with his beautiful village.

Ratee an his friends have worked day and night, starting to build two guest rooms near Unakuruwa Lake. The entire village has been behind him, giving their time, their skills, and their love.

But there comes a point where even the strongest communities need a little extra help.

*"My name is Rathi. Unakuruwa is the village where I was born. I have done a lot of fishing, but the money was only enough for daily life. I wanted to do something for my future. My father had a small piece of land near the lake, and I dreamed of building a place for guests.

With the help of my good friends, I started building two rooms using wooden beams. My community has helped in every way they could.I felt an unimaginable happiness.
