Last night (8/30), my mom, Rania, and my youngest brother, Cadan, lost their home to a fire in their apartment building. Our family dog, Tala, was also at home, but thankfully made it out safely, as well. The fire was caused by an apartment two doors down, and completely destroyed the top half of the building, displacing everyone who lives there and damaging all of their belongings. We are so grateful they made it out with their lives, just in time.
There are no words to truly describe how it feels to never be able to walk into your home again, never see any of your sentimental belongings, or be forced to say goodbye forever to your comfort and safe space.
While everyone is still in shock, I can only hope to ease a little bit of their stress and provide some support in the form of donations to go towards immediate food, shelter, clothing, and pet costs. My family hates to ask for hand outs, and while I wish I could help them rebuild their lives on my own, it is simply out of my means. I am doing everything I can, I just can’t afford to do it alone.
Anything you can donate will help them try to find some semblance of normality again, while we wait for insurance claims and permanent future housing to get sorted.
Again, we are the most grateful that they are safe and we are together as a family in this time of need and support. Anything you can donate, no matter how small, is so greatly appreciated- more than any of you could know. ❤️ Please keep my family in your thoughts, while they try to navigate this life altering and shattering turn of events. ❤️
