It is with unbearable heartbreak that I share the loss of my little sister, Ralonda Perry (Watkins)—a devoted mother, entrepreneur, and light to everyone who knew her.

Ralonda was taken from us due to domestic violence. She was killed by her husband during a domestic dispute—an act that occurred in front of four of her five daughters. She was left for dead, and her children are now left to process a trauma no child should ever endure.

Ralonda was the kind of woman who poured love into everything she did. She loved cooking, doing hair, singing, rapping, dancing, and above all—smiling. She was always helping someone, whether she had much or not. But the role she cherished most was being a mommy to her girls.

She leaves behind five beautiful daughters, ages 15, 13, 12, 10, and 6—her entire world.

As if this loss were not painful enough, Ralonda’s birthday and anniversary fall on the same day, just two days from now—a day that should have been filled with love and celebration.

I am Ralonda’s big sister, and I have stepped in to care for my nieces. It was always my sister’s wish—and it is the girls’ wish—that they remain together. I am doing everything I can to honor that promise, but the emotional, legal, and financial weight of this tragedy is overwhelming.
