Hello, my name is Housam,
and I’m starting this campaign for my dear friend, Raja and his family
I am Raja Al-Abed Mousa Jarboa, 43 years old, living in Rafah, Gaza Strip.
I hold a degree in Media and Public Relations. I am married and have four children:
• Tala, 17 years old
• Abdullah, 14 years old
• Ibrahim, 11 years old
• Ward, 4 years old
I have been working in journalism since 2014, specifically in sports journalism, contributing to several sports news websites. I also have experience in public relations within non-governmental organizations.
During the war, I covered events and news, writing reports for local news platforms. Additionally, I dedicated myself to helping displaced people in refugee camps through humanitarian initiatives, supported by loyal friends.
I once lived in my cherished apartment, my happy kingdom, with my small family — a home I built with years of hard work and effort. I financed it through a housing loan that I managed to repay after years of perseverance
Then the war began, bringing with it immense suffering, displacement, and homelessness. Our most precious possessions, our homes, were destroyed, along with everything that defined our private lives and the future of our children. Their schools were ruined, robbing them of their right to education, as well as access to food, water, play, healthcare, and all the fundamental rights of childhood.
We endured the most difficult days of our lives as we were forcibly displaced. Under artillery shelling and airstrikes, we evacuated our once-safe home in Rafah and fled to Khan Younis, specifically the Al-Mawasi area. We lived there for over nine months in a tent that lacked even the most basic human necessities — no proper food, water, electricity, or healthcare. It offered no protection from the harsh winter cold or the scorching summer heat.
The news of the war’s end and the ceasefire was supposed to bring relief. However, it came with the devastating shock that our home — the result of a lifetime of hard work and our family’s safe haven — had been destroyed. We were left without shelter, security, or any place to call home.
Additionally, the dreams and ambitions of my wife were shattered. Her educational center, “Smart Center,” was completely destroyed. It was like her beloved child, bringing her joy and fulfillment as she passionately taught children at various academic levels. Now, it is nothing but ashes and ruins — a painful memory left by the devastating war.
All I wish for is help to rebuild our home, restore security and safety for my children, and provide them with the necessities of a normal life. They deserve a safe and secure environment, along with a room of their own where they can feel protected once again. I also dream of reviving my wife’s educational center — a project she always hoped to grow and sustain.
All we long for is a fresh start and a dignified life for me and my children, who truly deserve a chance to live.
Thank you for your help and support.
