Hi, my little boy Rory is 2 years old and is really struggling developmentally and socially. Several staff at his nursery, health visitors and professionals have noticed Rory is showing a lot of traits of autism, but the nursery can’t put anything in place for him until we have the assessment and diagnosis. Current waiting times for an autism assessment for his age are several years, by which time he will be in school and not be receiving the additional 1 on 1 help he desperately needs. For this reason, we are having to go the route of a private assessment which costs around 1500, unfortunately however we can not afford this on our own.
