Help Raise Money for Rice N Beans

Hello everyone, my name is Michael Gaskins and I am a junior at UNC Charlotte, studying Psychology with a minor in Spanish. I am honored to announce that I have been selected to participate in the 2023 Man of DiSTinction pageant hosted by the Iota Rho Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. One element of the pageant is to select and raise money for a charity that we hold near and dear to our hearts.

I have chosen Rice N Beans, located in Charlotte, as my charity organization. Rice N Beans provides food, clothing, and personal care items for men, women, and children experiencing homelessness in Charlotte.

I chose this organization because I believe it is important to support those who need assistance in our community. Since I was a child, I have recognized the privilege I hold, which has led to a developed passion for serving those who don’t share my privilege. I want to actively give as much as I can and this is an opportunity to give more. Thank you for your kind donations and I hope you have a blessed day!
