Help my sister escape our abusive mother.
I understand that the world is struggling currently but,
I cannot emphasize the urgency of what I am about to tell you.
My younger sister Hayat is being held against her will in Hargeisa, Somaliland by our abusive mother. Hayat has had to endure indescribable physical, mental, and emotional abuse due to our mother perpetuating her own internalized misogynoir against her. Our mother has not only sabotaged her highschool education but she plans to ruin our sisters future as well. She is currently 17 and was pulled out of school in the US nearly 3 years ago to be sent to Somaliland for ‘cultural discipline’ and religious indoctrination so that she may become a ‘good and behaved girl’. Our mother has been lying to us (my sibling Nidaaro and I) about the education Hayat was receiving, the life she was living, and the circumstances she was under. Hayat was also pressured into keeping silent and not sharing with us the details of her situation by our mother. ( Our mother has also been abusive to the rest us as well as manipulative for further context. ) Hayat is currently staying with our mother’s sister in Hargeisa, and does not even have access to some basic necessities there, she endures physical and emotional torment in Hargeisa as well. My mother is planning on moving to Africa to keep Hayat there so that she can get an arranged marriage at 18 and live out the rest of her young life as a housewife with little to no rights, mobility, or even personhood. Hayat deserves a future so please help us bring our sister home. All funds will go towards tickets, relocation and moving/travel-related expenses. My sibling Nidaaro will be assisting with relocating my sister from Hargeisa, Somaliland to Austin, Texas.
If you know me and are familiar with my platform then you already know that I’d never ask you all for ANYTHING that isn’t of just cause! Nidaaro’s cashapp is $Nidaar0 and their Paypal is @Nidaaro . My cashapp is $AbdihakinOmerJama . Please donate whatever you are capable of, even change! Spread this to your friends, and help give my sister the life she deserves.
Thank you.
