Help Fund Adrian's Eagle Project on Feb. 12th
Donation protected
My name is Adrian Owczarz, and I am raising funds for my Eagle Project as an Eagle Scout Candidate from Troop 202 in Oakland. The project will benefit the Friends of Sausal Creek Native Plant Nursery in Joaquin Miller Park.
Friends of Sausal Creek (FOSC) is a local, non-profit organization dedicated to restoring the local native creek habitats by clearing invasive plants, gathering and growing native plants, and monitoring water quality and wildlife.
About 1/4 of the 40 nursery tables they use for native plant propagation are in bad shape, being frequently wet and subject to various rot, some of which can damage the plants.
Instead of throwing these tables away, we'll preserve what we can and replace the rest with a non-toxic, fungus-resistant material to prevent the spread of disease, as well as to prolong their use. This material, Trex, is a non-traditional, sustainable lumber composite.

The Eagle Project date is February 12, 2022.
I will be organizing a crew of volunteers and gathering available tools to restore up to 11 potting tables for the nursery.
Your donations will be used to pay for the Trex, hardware, and any extra tools and materials needed to re-build these nursery table surfaces and to brace some of them too.
The success of this GoFundMe campaign will determine how many tables I will be able to restore on that day.

Since I am not a registered non-profit organization, the donations cannot be used for tax deductions. Any excess funds, however, will be donated to FOSC.
I am an avid hiker and explore many local, preserved areas. It means a lot to me that I can contribute to the restoration of natural habitats. With your help, I will be able to aid the work of the FOSC in continuing their restoration efforts.
Thank you all so much for your support.
