When families started losing their jobs as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, my friends and I came together to ensure all our neighbors would stay fed! Things were especially challenging for elderly, home-bound individuals and new immigrant households, which were hesitant to seek government assistance without documentation.
Since our launch, we have delivered thousands of pounds of food to households in the San Gabriel Valley and Inland Empire. Although our organization is in its early stages, the impact of our work is tangible in the overwhelming amount of gratitude we have met.
However, the coming months are going to be extremely challenging for our group! One of our recipients have lost their house and we're struggling to find more donors.
