Hi, my name is Tee and I'm raising funds for Nimbin Youth- our local youth drop in centre. Nimbin Youth kicked off mid 2024, slowly but purposefully built from the ground up by Rain and Wick. Our community has been calling out for a service like this for years, and Rain and Wick brought our community's vision to life.
Our community has graciously kicked in support to make sure Nimbin Youth had a roof over their heads, which was incredibly helpful whilst the organsation established itself. But as the number of young people dropping in rises, so do the costs of running the service.
Rain and Wick are currently funding this project out of their own funds. We're talking costs of $1000+ each month. They've been applying for grants to help cover the costs, and so far have only been successful in obtaining one small grant- which helped them fund their holiday program "The Youth Code". In collaboration with Nimbin Neighbourhood & Information Centre, they will continue applying for grants, to help Nimbin Youth expand and grow.
In the meantime- Rain and Wick, and the young people of Nimbin need your help!
You can directly support Nimbin Youth by donating to this fundariser. As the old addage goes, "many hands make light work". If you love the young people of Nimbin and want to contribute to their well being, please consider donating. If you're concerned about youth crime rates, or you've had a whinge on hook ups about youth blah blah blah- here is your chance to make a meaningful difference.
Where will your money go?
• Rent for the drop in space
• Food for the young people
• Power bills
In a literal sense, these three things are where your donations will go. In the bigger picture, your money goes towards young people's futures, community development, supporting local families and reducing youth crime rates.
Our amazing community has been the glue that's held this drop in space together, donating furniture and technology to create an amazing space. It would be such a shame to see if fold because the financial pressure is too much on the founders of Nimbin Youth. Please contribute what you can, every little bit helps.
Rain and Wick want to extend their deepest gratitude to the many organisations and individual who have contriubuted to rent and other costs so far, and they, myself and the youth on Nimbin all send their thanks in advance for anyone who donates to keep the space running!
With much love and gratitude,
Tee
