Rachel has been a longtime friend and partner in ministry to so many, and she has spent the last several years serving on the mission field in Bisorio, Papua New Guinea. Recently, due to unexpected events within the tribe, Rachel had to return home to the United States much sooner than planned. This sudden departure has been incredibly difficult for her, as she is grieving the loss of her work and community overseas. On top of that, she returned with no time to prepare a place to live and is now facing the challenge of starting over while recovering from a very hard two years.

Originally, Rachel’s was set to come home for furlough in June, which would have given her time to plan and transition. Instead, she is now back in the states without a stable place to stay, and the abrupt change has left her without the support and comfort she needs. Our goal is to raise funds to secure a permanent three-month rental for Rachel, so she can rest, recover, and be surrounded by her community. This will allow her to avoid couch hopping or being in places where she feels isolated, and instead give her the space to heal and reacclimate to life here. After some research, a comfortable studio/backhouse short term rental will cost around $7k for the time she needs.

So many of you have supported Rachel financially and through prayer over the last five years, and she is beyond grateful for that. As her close friend group, we are now hoping to fill the gap in another way—by helping create a safe and comfortable space for her to process her grief, heal, and feel the love of her community. Rachel is so loved by so many, and I pray this is a way we can show her that tangibly. Any amount helps, and your support will make a real difference in her life right now.
