Update from Matthew and Rachel: June 2022
In life nothing is guaranteed. We are not guaranteed health. We are not guaranteed prosperity. We are not guaranteed children. Matthew and I realized that within a few years of our marriage. After trying to have children the natural way, we decided to pursue adoption.
We finally matched with a family in California! We have run the gamut of emotions: excitement, fear, trepidation, happiness... and at the end of the day, we trust that God brought this family to us for a reason.
We are now facing a scenario where the expectant parent expenses are different from what we initially expected. These parents have chosen LIFE for all of their babies, and they have chosen US to parent this baby. They deserve to be celebrated and admired for their choice. While this is a scary venture, Matthew and I are committed to this family. We know that we are not guaranteed to leave this experience with the baby our heart yearns for, but we also know this is right.
