relocation and safety fund

Hi everyone, my friends and I are creating this mutual aid fund to help the folks from qt art center relocate due to several concerns for their safety related to them running a community project serving marginalized folks as openly queer people. qt art center was a community led organization in downtown El Paso, TX in front of the border with Cd. Juarez, MX.

they provided the community with clothing, food, water, resources, workshops cultural enrichment events and community circles. They were completely funded off of community efforts through patreon.

Due to unfortunate circumstances related to numerous safety issues, qt art center was forced to close their doors. this page helps them with relocating to a safer city where they hopefully can have some peace. they have weathered numerous death threats, doxxing, stalking, harassment, hate crimes, intimidation from LEOs and getting held at gun point.

no one should have to live like this because of who they are or because they wanted to do something for the community.

update: the amount being raised has been increased. this is due to the violence affecting their livelihood and worsening symptoms of their disabilities. it was not a decision made without careful consideration and was a decision arrived at after taking their vehicle for regular maintenance where it was discovered there were multiple repairs necessary to make a cross country move successful as well as safe. whatever can be donated will help them in this process. thank you so much for reading this ❤️
