UPDATE: We are less than $2000 away! After a few weeks of looking for cars, we have realized all the funds will have to go to the vehicle purchase. Safe and reliable didn't work in the budget we had hoped. People have offered to help Jinx with the additional expenses.

Hi, my name is T.J. and last year I was approached to bring a teenager into my home and help them get a fresh start in life. I am so lucky I did, as this is an amazing kid. Jinx is a high school senior who has qualified to attend community college full-time and in 18 months will have an associate's degree in the trades. They achieved top of their class recognition their first semester, is disciplined and never misses a day. Obviously, this kiddo came from challenging circumstances, but is diligently turning lemons into lemonade. The other expenses to help them be successful are being covered, except for a safe car. Jinx had worked and bought a car that was not made for winter driving and had a pretty scary wreck. We need some help getting Jinx into about a $5000 AWD or 4WD used car with some left for repairs, tires and insurance. We hope to find a good safe car that will serve this kiddo for serveral years and allow them to have a part-time job while at community college. This is a young person that never asks for anything. It would be an amazing thing for them to see that people show up with kindness and help.
