The Allin Township (Stanford, Illinois) Fire Department needs your help!
The Stanford Fire Department was formed in 1907 following a major downtown fire that destroyed several buildings downtown. Fast forward over the course of the next century, the Allin Township Fire Department now provides a professional team of volunteer fire fighters, a fleet of six emergency vehicles, and emergency medical care. With our primary response area being 36 square miles for fire protection and 72 square miles for EMS, we also provide and receive mutual aid with the following departments: Danvers, Dale Township, Bloomington Township, Minier, Mackinaw, Armington, McLean, and Carlock, Heyworth, and Atlanta. Though we spend a great deal of time running calls and completing necessary training, we are also committed to being active in our community. Our personnel are involved in many fire prevention activities, community events, and fundraisers. The members of our team are proud to represent the Allin Township Fire Department mission through dedication and integrity.
Here is where we need your help. Over the past several years, economic constraints on our small department has lead to us being unable to complete necessary upgrades essential to us being able to provide the best service to our community. For example, we have several members in dire need of new protective equipment gear, both to be compliant with current NFPA standards and the safety of our personnel in general. Though we have been slowly trying to upgrade gear sets, the cost of this protective equipment has prevented us from being able to purchase new sets of gear.
Additionally, we are one of the only departments in our county that has yet to switch over to a new radio system, STARCOM, due to the overall cost of switching to this system. We run many mutual aid calls throughout the year, and because we have not been able to switch to this new system, communicating with mutual aid departments has become almost impossible, especially during the time of an emergency event.
From all of us at the Allin Township Fire Department, we really appreciate your consideration in donating to our small department's cause. We would be overjoyed to be able to be able to make many of these necessary upgrades, solely to be able to better protect our amazing community!
This fundraiser is along side one with a local brewery in Bloomington, IL, Lil Beaver Brewery on April 30th, May 1st and May 2nd. A portion of the proceeds from the weekend will be donated to the Allin Township Fire Department!
