Hello! We are the PTA at PS 28 in Jersey City! We are a PTA in the Jersey City Heights community. We are raising funds to buy food and hygiene items for local food banks (including St. John's Lutheran Church Food Pantry at 155 North Street) in the Heights. All money raised will go to buying food and hygiene products for the food banks.

This Saturday 11/1, SNAP benefits will end and no new funds will be available for Families First EBT cards. There is no indication that those of us who rely on these benefits will see them return on any certain date.

As a result, the PS 28 community is raising funds and collecting donations, and the PTA is communicating with several food pantries to coordinate weekly deliveries. Our goal is to identify local food bank(s) that will be serving the community each weekend and support them for the entire month of November.

We are creating this GoFundMe to purchase food and hygiene items in bulk to be donated to local food pantries. We will be posting updates here about which food bank(s) (location/dates/hours) we will be donating to so that you can spread the word and we can impact the most people.
