Help Provide Water to the Kings &Asheville Families in need!

Hurricane Helene has left our Asheville community broken and without a very basic need—water. We still have not heard an official estimate from the city on when the complex mountain water system will be repaired and water restored, but hearsay is months and even then may not be drinkable for some time. School is canceled indefinitely, and we similarly haven’t heard an official return date.

We are brainstorming, along with other families, how to hold school and maintain some sense of normalcy for the kids of our community. We held school at our house during the pandemic and have some basic infrastructure for that to begin, but are missing a key component to thrive and stay healthy—water!

We would like to drill a well to supply water to our house so the school can have water, families can shower, fill up water for their house and do their laundry, and also be able to supply water to our neighbors!

Once our kids are able to resume school, that will free Dave and Melissa up to be a better helping hand to our community. They have been with us this whole time and Its hard and often, in our lines of work unsafe to have kids in-tow to do the work we are capable of doing for our community.

Mission Hospital, the VA, a church and funeral home up the road from us are all drilling Wells so we know we are on the right track on moving in this direction as a solution.
