Help Provide Letter Jackets for Del City Seniors

Some 12 years ago I was a fledgling police officer working a part-time gig, as a security officer, at Del City Highschool. One faithful morning this beautifully smiling face came into the office, walked up to me and introduced herself. She asked if she could give me a hug, and then asked how my day was going. It was in that moment I realized the students of Del City Highschool were not what I had been told. From there I began to develop relationships with a multitude of students and truly fall in love with what I now considered to by our school. Fast forward a few years and my oldest daughter was graduating highschool and my wife and I wanted to buy her a letter jacket, which cost about $250. It was in that moment I realized that I never really saw letter jackets at our school. I'm a realist in saying that we are not a rich community, and as such luxury items such as letter jackets aren't usually purchased. I knew that's when I wanted to purchase letter jackets for the girls and boys basketball teams, because my daughter was also a "hooper." That first year I paid for most of the jackets myself, with the assistance of some friends I'd told. The next year I realized I could not keep this blessing to myself and I started reaching out to the community for assistance. From there each year I put out a fundraiser.

A year ago I moved from my assignment as the full-time FTO, to Supervisor over investigations. Even though this removed me from the school, it did not remove the school from me. In moving to my new assignment I honestly neglected to get my fundraiser out earlier this year. As such we are under a crunch to get the letter jackets in time for senior night. This is where I'm asking for your help. Anything you can contribute to helping us in our goal of $3000 is going to be very appreciative. ALL leftover money is placed into an account and will be used for years coming.
