Support Bat Cave Volunteer Hub & Effort.

I'm an Army Veteran, and small business owner of the trades in Lake Lure, Chimney Rock & Asheville. I was born and raised here. On September 28th, I drove 15 miles up to Lake Lure to check on some of my customers homes and saw all the devastation. Since then, I started a grass roots mission with others and I have dedicated my time driving necessities into Lake Lure for distribution throughout the community & beyond. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone for their donations and support which has significantly enhanced our capabilities. This absolutely blows my mind and I will continue to do whatever I can to lift these people up. Our first initiative was for food, water, medical supplies, baby items, and other home essentials, and we have succeeded in reaching that goal. Now we need your dollars for the following items.

Those planning to provide aid or donations to Lake Lure, Chimney Rock or anywhere in WNC are advised to consult with local contacts beforehand for critical information. The region's requirements and relief endeavors will persist through winter, necessitating ongoing coordination. To avoid hindering recovery efforts, refrain from sightseeing and instead collaborate with community liaisons. Be aware that road repairs and debris clearance are underway, with potential hazards and crew activities, including flaggers on certain routes. Unless absolutely necessary, avoid Helene-impacted areas. We extend sincere appreciation for your support, which enables our community's self-sufficiency and rebuilding.

OUR MISSION: Provide hurricane Helene damaged communities with generators, propane heaters for the impending cold, sturdy muck boots, reliable StarLink communication, and warm clothing as it is starting to get cold. Essentials: generators, gas cans, solar chargers, and propane for camp stoves.

How will the Funds be used?

Each dollar will go to purchase necessities in the Lake Lure & Chimney Rock community. These needs are basic: water, hygiene, fuel, storage for water and fuel, nonperishable foods, 16oz Propane tanks, solar chargers, tarps and other requested items from residents & first responders. With $939 we can purchase Starlink for a community, a generator, cables, and gas, so residents can communicate with their loved ones. We have received a donation one Starlink and have been able to purchase 2 generators. We want to purchase 4 more.

Any Unused funds will be donated to the American Red Cross or Samaritans Purse. Daily updates will be posted of donations coming in & going out into the community.

Their home, though partially damaged, remains their sanctuary, even without power or running water. Meanwhile, another family—composed of a mother, father, and a young child—clings desperately to their own half-devastated home and car. Our dedicated team ventured on foot into the affected area, Locating these survivors and ensuring their safety. This is why we are raising funds to bring Starlink, a generator, cables and gas to them, so they can communicate with us and let us know what they need. These efforts will be continuing for many weeks, maybe months. We have already placed one Starlink and 2 generators, water, food, medical supplies, baby items, and more.
