Hi, my name is Phil, I’m a dentist, and this June I will be volunteering with the Crisis Management Association (CMA) for one week at a refugee camp on the island of Lesvos, Greece.

CMA’s dental clinic was established due to the serious need for emergency dental treatment for the refugees and asylum seekers of Lesvos. Access to emergency dental care is limited on the island and many refugees and asylum seekers have not had access to dental care for several years. Currently, there is a health crisis and further degradation of the quality of life for many of those living inside the camp due to the lack of dental care. The project provides a fully equipped dental clinic inside the new temporary camp, and I will be volunteering as a dentist to provide much-needed dental care from June 8th.

I have funded this trip myself, so all of the support will go directly toward the cost of dental and medical supplies, and maintaining the dental surgery that is so badly needed by the residents of the camp.
