Help Stenlee & Jenna Senat Protect Their Children After Black Mold Exposure

Stenlee and Jenna Senat are parents who were forced to make the heartbreaking decision to leave their home after discovering black mold that was making their entire family sick.

Their 8-month-old baby has been the most affected. She has been in and out of doctor visits, emergency rooms, and even seen specialists. She began losing weight and was unable to keep food down. After leaving the home, something incredible happened — within just two days, she began improving and has not thrown up since.

This confirmed what they feared: their home was making their children sick.

Since leaving, the family has been staying in a hotel with their children while trying to figure out next steps. They are draining what little they have left in their bank account just to keep a roof over their heads. On top of that, they’ve been advised that nearly 95% of their belongings will need to be replaced due to mold contamination. Now they are on the Long road to recovery. The 8 month old baby is very underweight and being evaluated to help her recover and the rest of the family is working on healing. They will need to not only replace basic items like clothing and items needed to live day to day but they are also going to need to find a new place to live quickly that is safe for their family. And the battle of the organizations that are going to need paper work and such.

Right now, they only have their hotel secured until Thursday. It will cost $2,300 to extend their stay for 30 days — time they desperately need to find safe housing and work with a lawyer to protect their family. They have reached out to their State Farm renters insurance and they cannot cover the cost of anything related to mold or displacement.

We are asking for help to take some of this heavy burden off their shoulders so they can focus on what matters most: keeping their babies safe and healthy.
