I’m creating this GoFundMe to support my close friend Nayla, a dedicated and loving mother who has always been the steady source of comfort, care, and support for her children. I still consider these boys my sons because I was their stepmother for years and still am even though I’m no longer with their father. She has been the parent who consistently shows up for their emotional, mental, physical, and everyday needs. Her children feel safest with her, they open up to her, and they have made it very clear that they want to remain living with their mom full time while still having a healthy relationship with their dad.

Right now, the children are facing a lot of confusion and stress. They want stability. They want a home where they feel understood, supported, and emotionally secure. Their bond with their mother is incredibly strong, and it is where they feel the most grounded.

We are trying to raise funds so that Nayla can hire a qualified attorney to establish an emergency parenting plan that fully reflects the children’s needs and wishes. This is not about taking them away from anyone. This is about protecting their sense of safety and ensuring that their voices are heard in a situation that feels overwhelming for them.

She works full-time and provides for all of their needs. Her and the father had an agreement that no one would be put on child support if he helped provide for their extracurricular activities, school supplies, and school clothes. He failed to comply with their agreement, so she recently requested child support through the court system and has been met with retaliation by the father. He is now trying to take custody of the children and threatening to uproot them from where they have created a life of stability and comfort. So we are doing everything we can to make sure that a parenting plan is put in place as soon as possible. 

The children have repeatedly expressed that they feel more comfortable, supported, and cared for with their mother, and it’s important that the legal process honors that. The oldest has worked so hard for his high school career and his extracurricular activities. When he expressed to his father that he didn’t want to go because he’s determined to finish what he started, his father hung up in his face. 

With a proper parenting plan in place, they can continue to have stability at home while still maintaining a relationship with both parents in a healthy and balanced way.

Nayla has always been their anchor the one who helps them manage their emotions, guides them through difficult moments, and provides the consistent love they rely on. Ensuring that they stay in an environment where they feel safe and secure is our number one priority.
