Help Lily Protect Her Daughter and Rebuild a Life Free from Abuse

I’m starting this GoFundMe to support my dear friend Lily, a devoted mother to a baby girl, who is fighting for their safety and freedom from an abusive ex-partner.

Lily urgently needs help to retain a qualified attorney and cover court costs. She has already spent thousands of dollars of her hard-earned income on legal support, doing everything she could to handle this on her own. But as the threat escalates, she’s beginning to fall behind on basic living expenses. Every dollar raised will go directly to support her in her fight to protect her daughter from further trauma.

Lily is one of the most resilient and compassionate people I know. She has endured unimaginable hardship, forced to start over in a temporary domestic violence shelter late in her pregnancy. Now she is living in hiding to protect herself and her baby. She is doing this without a safety net or support from her own family, who have been harmful and unsafe, compounding the trauma rather than helping to ease it.

Now, her abuser is using the legal system to continue his control. Though he has shown no real interest in being a parent, he is threatening to pursue custody. This is not about love, but about power and punishment. Since he can no longer harm her physically, he is turning to legal abuse to cause pain.

If you’ve ever wanted to stand beside someone doing everything she can to break free and build a better life, this is that moment.

No one should have to endure what Lily has faced, especially while caring for a newborn. I can’t share Lily’s full story here due to legal and safety concerns, but please know that the circumstances are serious and heartbreaking.
