Help Protect Life-Saving Shark Bite Kits in Our Community…
Our community is incredibly fortunate to have access to shark bite kits that contain vital, life-saving equipment designed to be used in a medical emergency. These kits can mean the difference between life and death.
The original 25 shark bite kits were generously funded by Gwylo and The Jackson Ranch, and delivered through a collaboration with Ulladulla Boardriders to support our local ocean users and wider community. These kits are installed across 25 of our favourite beaches between Narrawallee and Bawley Point, helping to improve safety along our coastline.
Unfortunately, we have already been notified that a number of kits are missing, highlighting the need to plan ahead. We have decided to raise funds now to set aside money for replacement kits (hopefully not many) in the future, so that these vital resources can be quickly restored if they are vandalised or used. We don’t believe the original businesses who generously funded this project should be expected to continually replace kits — this is a resource for the entire community, and it’s up to all of us to help look after it.
This is also about raising awareness. These kits are not souvenirs or targets for misuse — they are critical emergency equipment that could one day save the life of a friend, family member, or stranger. As a community that relies on the ocean, we all share the responsibility to protect, respect, educate others, and take care of these resources.
By donating, you’re helping replace used or damaged kits, spread awareness of their importance, and support a community that takes care of its own. Every contribution helps keep these life-saving tools where they belong — accessible, intact, and ready when they’re needed most.
Thank you for supporting the safety of our community.
