Help prevent the closure of Ramana's Garden

Donation protected
Ramana's Garden is an orphanage & day school serving 250 poor children in Rishikesh, India. The school, founded 20 years ago, provides housing, food, education & love for kids who would otherwise have limited access to education due to family & geographic circumstances. Many of their graduates have gone on to college and post-graduate degrees, bettering their lives and the lives of their families, their communities, and their society.

We had the privilege of spending time with the kids, ranging in age from about 6 to 16 years of age, chanting and singing with them (The children of Ramanas Garden singing with us ). While there, we were heartbroken to learn that the orphanage is under immediate threat of closure due to an aggressive development project intended for tourists as Rishikesh is a popular & growing tourist destination for Westerners. Since the project cannot be within 200 meters of a school, the developers are using legal tactics to harass the orphanage to close. The staff is fighting hard but the legal bills are mounting, and they need help.

We met these children, we saw their hopeful faces, we observed the devoted care of the staff, and we were moved to try to help them navigate this crisis.
