Help prevent homelessness, during cold New Hampshire January, for maternity mom & family!
When we first brought our newborn son, Conner, home from the hospital back in July, we were overcome with joy. Our house, our family, was finally complete. With three beautiful step sisters, two dogs, and two cats, they all eagerly welcomed him in, to love unconditionally, with open arms, as well as open paws! Never would we have ever imagined that we would all be facing possible homelessness, in the middle of a bitterly cold New Hampshire winter, not even six months later.
Unfortunately, after Conner's birth, I required a longer, mandatory maternity leave for recovery due to unforeseen complications from a somewhat botched emergency cesarean section. After the first round of stitches were removed by medical professionals at Concord Hospital, shortly before our discharge home with new baby, I blew my nose and suffered from a very rare side effect to the surgery- my stomach intestines pushed through my cesarean incision. Called a "full dehiscence" by doctors, it was rare indeed but also very painful. I was immediately rushed back in to a second round of emergency surgery, sixteen more stitches to the same area, and an additional week stay in the maternity ward.
Due to the extended time I needed for recovery, my maternity leave from work was longer than we would have financially liked. Don't get me wrong, I wish I could be a stay at home mom and spend every waking second with my baby boy. Being that my husband's restaurant salary was now our sole source of income, we could never afford to have me be a "stay at home mom" because we need my additional income to survive. That being said, his income was just enough to sustain us during this time, but sadly not enough to make our rent, and we therefor accrued a two month back rent balance that has followed us to the present.
Sadly, because of our accrued back rent, from my time off during my unpaid maternity leave, our landlord dropped off an eviction notice in our mailbox the day after Christmas. She has given us until January 4th, 2020 to somehow pay a total of $3,250 or indefinitely face eviction. Leaving our six month old newborn, beloved pets, and teenage daughters' homeless and without a roof over our heads, during a bitterly cold New Hampshire winter.
If you can find it in your hearts to help us get back on our feet and keep our beloved home, any amount of monetary contribution would be unequivocally appreciated and we would be eternally grateful (:
Please help our family from facing inevitable eviction within a few days by donating , so we may start the year 2020 on the right foot.
All of our love and gratitude,
The Harrison Family
