Help Preserve Susanville's History: Donate Now

I came across an enclosed glass case containing a dress and two invitations dating back to the 1900s. After much research online to determine the possible owner of the dress, I found some interesting history. I contacted the Susanville Historical Society to share my findings, and they are eager to display the dress in their museum. Unfortunately, the museum lacks the funds to buy the dress, as they are a small institution. I am unable to purchase the dress myself, as it is being sold for $900. I am seeking your assistance in acquiring the dress and donating it to the museum, where I believe it rightfully belongs. Any donations would be greatly appreciated to help me return this historical item to its community
History: The first invitation has the words "Miss May Spencer," who married Charles E. Emerson. Mr. Emerson built the Susanville's Emerson Hotel in 1900, and it had its grand opening on June 3, 1901. The second invitation is from the grand opening. I can only imagine that the dress might have been worn by Mrs. May Spencer Emerson. You can see the article below, where I gathered most of the historical information about the hotel.
