Help Preserve Public Data: Donate for Storage

Important public information is being systematically removed from government websites by the US fascist administration. We, The People, own this information. We paid for it with our taxes. And now, we must preserve it for future generations. Distributed torrenting is currently our best option.

This fundraiser is part 2. Part 1 successfully funded 112TB of storage for public data torrents from SciOp. My contribution is free solar energy, maintenance, and bandwidth. But I need your help for the storage part.

The current torrent server draws 136w (not bad for 8x data center HDDs constantly chugging and a Bulldozer era AMD CPU). 0.136kWh x 24 x 365 = 1.191MWh per year. That would cost about $179 if I had to pay for my electricity. But instead, of my 91 solar panels, THREE of them, powers this server for the year.

However, the server is mostly filled up, so there is a need for more storage. The idea would be an external USB tower with 10x more 16TB HDDs. I estimate $2522 would expand the server by 160TB, so we'd have 272TB total !!
