Help Preserve a Piece of Aliquippa & A&S Railroad History!
Donation protected
It has come to the attention of the B.F. Jones Memorial Library that a sign previously housed at the Aliquippa & Southern Railroad Company Bunkhouse has surfaced out in the wider world. The sign is 16 feet long, in one piece, and made of wood; its excellent state of preservation is nearly unbelievable.
It is an important piece of Aliquippa history, and would be a worthy and incredible addition to the historical memorabilia collection that is housed in our History Cabinets here at the Library. Unfortunately, the price necessary to acquire it and ensure that it, and the history it represents, are preserved - $2500 - is not currently within the Library's budget. Therefore, we are looking to our Aliquippa community, both near and far, once more to help us ensure that a piece of the A&S Railroad's history is kept safe for future generations.
We thank you in advance!
