Hello, I am Ilesh Patel. Here I am raising funds for Mr. Preet Harsoda. On November 19, 2025, tragedy struck 27-year-old student Mr. Preet Harsoda, who recently came from India to the United States to study at Florida State University. Late that evening, a fire broke out in his building at the Seminole Social complex in Tallahassee, FL.
Preet suffered life-threatening burns over approximately 65–70% of his body. He was initially taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital and then urgently airlifted to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL, where he is currently in the intensive care unit.
Preet is in critical condition. He is on a ventilator (breathing machine) and requires continuous dialysis. Due to the severity of his burns and swelling, doctors have had to make multiple incisions in his skin to relieve pressure and allow blood to circulate properly. He will need many surgeries, including skin grafts, and long-term intensive medical care. His recovery will likely take many months and will be extremely challenging—physically, emotionally, and financially.
We are raising funds to help with:
- Medical expenses not fully covered by insurance
- Long-term hospital and rehabilitation care
- Essential medications, wound care, and follow-up treatments
- Travel, housing, and daily living costs for his family, who are coming from India to be by his side
- Any emergency or unforeseen expenses related to his recovery
Preet came to the U.S. with dreams of building a better future through education. Overnight, his life has been turned upside down.
