Help PJ Do Laundry (yep, it's for real)

Those who know us know requesting something like this is WAY WAY WAY out of what we are comfortable doing. Hopefully, the shock value of seeing this project will be enough to convey to you - the request is genuine, and we would be blessed beyond words if we could pull this off. If this isn't your cup of tea, please consider sharing with others, as the more involved, the greater our chance of success. To prevent you from reading forever, let's break the reasons, the requests, and the benefits into bite-sized pieces.
The BACKGROUND:
- Our laundry room is in the basement.
- Our bedroom/master bath is on the second floor, meaning two full flights of stairs separate the two. Moving laundry between floors has been doable – but only when I help.
- Remember PJ's double hip replacement, blood clotting issues, breathing issues, complex regional pain syndrome, and the after-effects of COVID? Those health conditions continue to impact her daily life, and without my help PJ is extremely limited in her capacity to get laundry done. "Can" she do it? Yes, but she hurts - ALOT - limiting her ability to heal herself + care for me.
- NEXT – I am diagnosed with late-stage 3 stomach and esophageal cancer, and the chemotherapy treatments, side effects, and the pain from the tumor itself have reduced me to a level where I can no longer help move laundry from the bedroom to the basement and back.
- Our focus of effort in 2022 will be cancer treatment. I have just started 8+ weeks of chemo, 4-6 weeks of rest to prepare for major abdominal surgery, 4-6 weeks of post-surgery recovery, then 8+ weeks of Chemo again…. (that seems like forever…. Right?)
The ASK – We are raising funds to do a partial remodel of our master bathroom.
- Existing tub in the master bathroom removed + demo of tub surround
- Hot/Cold supply drain moved to the wall (Licensed Plumber)
- Qualified electrician to run new 220V AC from the breaker box to a new wall outlet
- New drywall installed, mud, sand, paint + dryer vent installation
- Purchase and installation of a 27 in. Black Steel WashTower Laundry Center with 4.5 cu. ft. Front Load Washer and 7.4 cu. ft. The BENEFITS
- Please know this is NOT a must-have item in our home. This “Blessed beyond words” project would help us more than we could communicate.
- Stairs are no longer a problem. She can do smaller loads from a convenient location without risking injury to her hips.
- I no longer have to fear her falling down or up the stairs. If you know her, you know this is a real thing.
- We haven’t used the tub in this house in 17 years. This is simply a better use of space as the remaining tub area is large enough to hold a comfortable chair for PJ and cabinet space for supplies.
- If we can pull this off – I will have clean underwear (LOL)
