help Piyêsiw secure housing & necessities

aaniin friends, family, and community,
We are calling out for community help on behalf of our co-worker and Indigenous kin, Piyêsiw (she/they), a Nehiyaw/Dene queer disabled Indigenous full spectrum birthworker and parent, who is facing an overwhelming series of challenges, primarily the recent loss of both their housing and job.
Their landlord recently sold their house, and since then they have been struggling to find housing. As a result, they are currently couch surfing and staying in a different town. To make matters worse, the same day they moved out of their home, Piyêsiw also unexpectedly lost their job. They are currently waiting on their ROE to see if they can apply for EI. Unfortunately, this process could take months.
Moreover, they have had to break contracts for their utilities which means they are now burdened with the break fees, adding to already mounting financial strain.
Piyêsiw is a wonderful person who does so much amazing community work. Please donate if you are able or share this page amongst your networks, your support helps create safety and security for an Indigenous community member facing insecure housing.
Chi miigwetch for your support.
