Pippy was a Christmas gift for my daughter in 2019. He’s also the first dog I’ve owned since I was a kid.

About a week ago Pippy got an eye injury that pierced his cornea. Now he has a corneal ulcer. He’s in a lot of pain, and the vet visits I’ve gone to both recommended getting his eye removed at urgent care and ER - I didn’t even know they had these for pets).

I’ve spent about $800 on those visits and medication already. I’m in an awkward financial situation. My previous job was eliminated and while I am working again, I’m making significantly less than I’m used to.

I’m actually already selling my house to make up for the difference in pay and to bounce back a little.

i can’t afford eye removal surgery and I honestly couldn’t afford what I’ve already spent. But I love him and he’s my big boy.

My daughter loves him. He’s really my little bestie. And the amount of joy he’s still trying to give us in his pain is so heartbreaking.

He deserves to feel as good as he is.
