Help Pinoy Families and Pets to Recover from Typhoon Carina

Good Day!

My name is Jamie Santos, a Filipino citizen based in Miami, Florida. I am writing to seek your support for my fellow Filipinos who have been severely impacted by Typhoon Carina and the southwest monsoon (Habagat). This calamity has brought unprecedented rainfall, even surpassing that of Typhoon Ketsana (Ondoy) in 2009, resulting in devastating flash floods across the National Capital Region and Northern Philippines. Countless families have been forced to evacuate as water levels rose rapidly, leading to a heart-wrenching number of fatalities from all age groups.

My Family residing in a 1 storey house in our town, Marilao Bulacan that was mainly affected by the typhoon so bad. The water level was above the head outside our home while up to the chest inside. Our kennel, as well as our mother and cousin had to stay on top of the roof together with our 21 dogs, with no food for two days and there was a power outage for 5 days. We have tried calling different offices of the government to ask for rescue but nobody was available due to high demand of rescue operations and the whole town was surrounded with flood leading to unreachable places. A lot have died due to flashfloods happened. This tragedy left everybody traumatized, and as a pet lover we felt bad as well to those affected pets on the streets and the other kennels.

Given the vast number of affected individuals and the scarcity of resources; In behalf of our Pura Vida Family, I kindly ask for your support to aid these communities. It has been overwhelming, affecting countless families and individuals who have lost their homes, loved ones, and fur babies. Our goal is to raise USD 8,000 to fund this outreach project, ensuring that your donations directly reach the families and pets in need. During these trying times, when many have lost their homes and loved ones, we must remind our fellow Filipinos not to lose hope or faith. There are people across the world who stand in solidarity with them and wish them a speedy recovery from this tragedy.
