It’s with a heavy heart that I’m reaching out on behalf of our dear friends, Phoenix & Izzy, who were victims of a horrific hate crime earlier this week.

The transphobic verbal and physical assault left Phoenix with a concussion, with resulting (hopefully temporary) visual impairment.

This means he’s unable to do his work as a barber, and is facing a significant loss of earnings and financial pressures.

In light of all this, it would mean the world to myself and all of his loved ones, to see him supported by the community through this heavy healing process.

Anyone who has ever met Phoenix will jump to say that he is an outstanding human. Both Izzy and Phoenix are pillars of the community and tireless advocates, they shine so brightly in all of our lives and it’s utterly heartbreaking to see them suffer.
